It must be that time of year again.  I have broke out my charcoal pencils, a copy of Burne Hogarth’s Dynamic Anatomy and am trying to recreate everything I like from the Gupta empire.  The only thing left to do is buy some bigger paper and let the mediocrity pour out.

Difficult Conversation

I am sure there is an awesome Greek or Latin word for difficult conversation, although I have no idea what it is.

Before anyone throws out a nice German word, I would just like to say, and it could totally be the romantic in me, but I feel German words tend to more describe a feeling or idea, where as classical words tends to create feelings inside of you.

That is to say, German makes me think, “Oh, yeah that is totally how I feel.” where as say, a good Greek term has me thinking, “why I am so shallow?”

Part two of the Important Greek Words That I Know series

No, I am not really happy with this spelling of storge.  I checked the OED and of the five examples four were spelling variants.  My Webster’s at home didn’t even have an entry.  How can you have eros and not storge?  Come on Webster, get it together man.  This is one of the most life effecting forms of love and you can’t even spare a column inch or two.
