Tethered

Notes on my process, with the hope of improving.
Sometime during the day, usually in the evening, but sometimes in the afternoon, I feel like I should be doing something.  So I take out a pen and just sort of start sketching around in my sketchbook and say, ‘hey I bet this would make a cool painting’.  Then I move over to a blank piece of paper and attempt to make the sketch a finished piece.
While I wait for areas of the painting to dry, sometimes I get another idea and I try to sketch it.
Sometimes I place the painting near the wood stove to quicken its drying time.
This usually occurs if I feel the painting is turning out pretty good.
After the watercolor has dried I put a large book on top of it and two 5lb weights on top of that.
At this point I usually have to go do something else.
